It looks like Bridge City was just too much for Cameron Yoe...will Cameron Yoe ever defeat a Golden Triangle team in any sport?

Boy, Coach Broussard, has done a great job with this Yoe team: fielding 8 Sophs, 2 Juniors and two Seniors. I like the Yoemen people and had the privilege of sitting close to the Grandparents of the CF and Catcher. These folks were funny: they said that the way they are able to stay in 3A so long is that they only hire new Teachers and Coaches that have a number of children to register in school LOL.

Bridge City is quite young on the field
but many have played in a number of playoff games, even Hicks(second batter) and Robertson(leadoff) played in the Final four when they were Freshmen: both are just Juniors right now.

An interesting note-- Cessac-- a Senior started this game and played Right Field and went 4 or 4 with sparkling hits all evening. Keleb Kellogg(Junior, plays RF a lot), was ready to pitch: coming off the bench IF needed; but he did get to share the DH spot twice and got good hits each time.

BC plays a rated team from their own District(Orangefield) next. It is awful hard to beat a good team like OF over and over. I look for BC to win two of the three games, if they play well and have no errors--just as they had no errors against Cameron.

If Yoe ends up in 2A they will be a terror in both Baseball and Softball next season--partly because of the sound coaching of Alfonso Chevez(SB Coach) and Broussard who is a fresh face from Hardin-Jefferson.

Not sure if Chevez will be there next year, atleast thats what i'm hearing. And they will still be 3a next season alignment is the year after. Good luck to Bridge City the rest of the way

The Golden Triangle is where the towns of Bridge City, Orange, Port Neches/Groves, Beaumont, Buna, Deweyville, Jasper, etc. are located. Year in, year in, they seem to have superior athletes, especially in football, basketball, and baseball. Historically, Cameron Yoe has not had any luck against teams from Jasper and Bridge City.

Yeah, but Cameron Yoe BARELY beat Newton "a long time ago"...and Kirbyville had just moved up from 2A when Cameron Yoe beat them...

I swear, you make an honest memory error on here, and everyone is real quick to call you out...I know I am correct on the Cameron Yoe/Newton matchup back in 1981...Cameron Yoe advanced on penetrations...

I liked that information you pulled up...I stand corrected...I thought we never did well against Golden Triangle teams, but it looks like we have done okay...
