Vernon has come a long way from where their baseball program was about 5-6 years ago.

WOW!!! Ryan Cox was called out at the plate by the home plate umpire. After a 5 minute discussion with other umpires, they decided to overturn the call. That is controversial to say the least.

No, not quite..the home plate umpire never made an "out" call - on the broadcast, I called Cox out because I thought the ball got to home plate in time and I thought I saw a tag.

The INITIAL call by the home plate umpire was "safe" even though the call came a few seconds after the play occured..the discussion came after but he was initially called safe by the home plate ump.
