Are all old threads of a certain age automatically closed? I went back to revive one and all of the older threads are closed.
Has it always been this way?

They don't like us bringing back old stuff!

I think they close at 6 months right now.

I know this is a question for the mods. But old threads are closed.
I just don't know how much time has to go by without it being
replied to.

Someone got bored one day and brought back some old threads, so someone not surprisingly complained about it.

That is also why you can't change your birthdate and why the word association thread was closed.

Thanks for the replies. I have another question. Anybody ever used the "Calendar" function? I notice you can add a "private event" to the calendar. Maybe I'll discover all the little forum "nuances" before this thread is through. There are a lot of features of the board I've never tried out, however.

You can always link to an old thread. 99% of the time a mod will reply to it not realizing it is old. That won't open it back up but it should pull it back to the front page.

Some mods are nice enough to unlock them and bring them to the top
if you ask them too.

Heck....just ask Jason, he is always wanting me to open one thread or other for him.

No reason not to, as far as I can tell!
