"Slashed" isn't the same as "axing". They merely reduced the budget from 6 million to 2 million. They'll still test around 20 to 25 thousand.

Once a program like this was started, it will not die out because they will continue to play the "it's for the children" card.

Of all the HS athletes tested since the program started, approximately 29,000, only 11 tested positive. The story doesn't even address whether the steroids were doctor ordered or not. BIG waste of money in my opinion. Surely the state has better things to spend OUR money on.

I think it is for the good, but I agree that its a lot of money down the tube!

I think only 1 or 2 were true positives. Most of the others are failures due to refusing to take the test. That program is a waste of time.
