The State Track Meet On A ........

....NORMAL YEAR IS THIS WEEKEND(MOMMA'S DAY WEEKEND) AND THIS YEAR IT WILL BE ONE MONTH LATE.

THINK THE BIG 12 MEET WILL BE OVER, AND THE NEXT WEEKEND I WILL BE HEADNING TO ARKANSAS TO WATCH THE NCAA'S...ONE WEEK AFTER THE STATE MEET.

ALL GOOD, NO GREATER SPORT THAN TRACK(FOOTBALL IS A RELGION, NOT A SPORT, SO DON'T START NO WISE @SS SH!T)... JUST WISH THEY WOULDA TOLT ME, HEK WE WOULDA STARTED IN MARCH INSTEAD JAN.

I thought the "normal" track meet was originally scheduled for next weekend....the 15th and 16th!:confused:

cause originalli it was 15-16 then when the Swine flue hit and they cancelled athletics till the 11th they made the State Meet a 3 day meet...the 14, 15, 16.

Right!! I remember telling my husband that it WASN'T on Mother's day weekend this year!!

It was originally the 14,15 and 16 without the regional track meets but once those got reinstated they moved it back to the 5th and 6th

Before the swine flu, before the UIL ground everything to a halt.....the UIL website showed the meet to be on the 15th & 16th of May!

What Kaorder and I were saying is that it was never scheduled for Mother's Day weekend to begin with this year.

I guess I misunderstood BOCEPHUS...I thought he was saying it wasn't a normal year because of the swine flu and all the hulaballo it started...and not because it wasn't on Mother's day weekend.

Yeah, it takes a tremendous skill set to run fast in a straight line or run and turn left or run lap after lap after lap after lap ahead of others who are trying to wear out their shoes... I truly appreciate many things about track but have to respectfully disagree.

LET ME SPLAIN MYSELF, FOR THE LAST 23 YEARS OR SO THE STATE MEET HAS USUALLY BEEN ON MOTHERS DAY WEEKEND. THIS YEAR WAS THE FIRST TIME IT WAS NOT INLONG TIME, WAS WHAT THE H3LL I MEANT BY NORMAL YEAR. U GOT TO BE OLD AS ME AND BEEN GOING TO STATE TRACK MEET TO GET IT I GUESS.
