Brittnee Rice, a senior softball player at Tarleton State and a former Super Centex standout at West, has been named to the All-Lone Star Conference first team after a tremendous slugging season.

Rice hit .333 with 46 hits and a .714 slugging percentage for the TexAnns this year, but where she truly distinguished herself was with the longball. She set a new single-season school record with 16 home runs, finishing ninth in all of NCAA Division II in that category. Rice’s best game came against Eastern New Mexico April 21, when she blasted three home runs to set a new conference record for homers in a game.

Rice played two years at Temple College prior to transferring to Tarleton before the 2008 season.
