The field for the 2009 TSTC Sammy Baugh Classic has been set.

I think we have a pretty darn good line up this year! It took a little time with coaching changes in the area and until you get involved in an event like this, it may be hard to understand what it takes to get schools to give up that home game, as well as the concession income and extra travel expenses.

Some of the Classic's are not surviving because of those reasons....I hope we can keep the TSTC Sammy Baugh Classic going strong!!!

This year we moved it to week zero.

Thursday, August 27th: Crane vs. Roscoe 7:30 pm

Friday, August 28th: Burkburnett vs. Sweetwater 7:30 pm

Saturday, August 28th:

Merkel vs. Jim Ned 1 pm
Reagan County vs. Colorado City 7 pm

Times for the Saturday games are subject to change, but not the order.

Crane-Roscoe is not a bad Thur game

Excellent lineup! If my son and daughter weren't playing and cheering on Friday nights I would make a trip to Sweetwater!

I agree....Roscoe has not been challenged in any previous Classic's ..that may change this time!

Hey Matt....I heard we are also going to "update" the pressbox (new A/C and internet..etc....nothing Major)...but still .it will be better!
The new entry/restrooms/concession area is well under way.

Nah...

Burk runs the wishbone. Nobody has ever won anything doing
that.

I just hope the DT that bench presses houses has graduated.

Sunday 3 PM
Dallas Parapalegic vs Midland school of the Blind.
Should be a good game. Dallas Won the DFW handycap district. Midland beat Sweetwater in a scrimage 2 quarter contest last year. Many think it was a fluke because Midland players have a very sensitive hearing ( because they are blind ) and were listening in on the huddle calls so for a full one and a half quarter they heard the plays called and had an advatage. Sweetwater made a game of it in the end when they figured out that those kids could hear those huddle calls and they went to hand signals.

Great! Maybe we'll double team him this time.

I think the Villanueva twins graduate for Roscoe. They should still
be good though.

It wouldn't be the first time he didn't acknowledge a fellow
Downlow member. Just ask Ranger Mom. I was about ten feet
from the prima donna when I was waiting for my chance to
greet him at Mustang Bowl. He wouldn't quit talking long enough
for me to have an appropriate opportunity. So I walk to the
scoreboard just in time to see Coach Rogers and Coach Jackson
acting like ol' chums.

Anyway GetRDoneStangs am I going to have some obligations
during the Sammy Baugh Classic? BTW I'm not cleaning any
restrooms and I'm definately not "guarding" the west gate.:D

Does Sweetwater still have that Fried Chicken place where you could get "pullybones"? Almost worth the drive just for that.

Yea, Allens is still around. Ms. Allen passed away recently.....(RIP)...but the son has been running it for years now.

Come hungry.....leave miserable!!!
