Question For Sinton Fans

My son is going to the state wildlife competition on Tuesday May 11th and thanks to the UIL he also has a game that evening in MacGregor. I am going to have to come get him from Glen Rose and then take him back to Macgregor. My question is which is the best route to take. I-35 to San Antonio to 281, or 181 from San Marcus. Or is there a different one. Any help would be appreciated. I have to pick him up at noon and be in MacGregor by 6pm.

I-35 would be freeway all the way to San Antonio. 181 & 281 both go through numerous smaller towns. Time-wise, I'd think the interstate would be quicker.

ok thanks Thats what I thought but sometimes you can shave miles off that makes up for it. The Interstate is a better drive for sure. Thanks Again

If the competition is in the Sinton area, US 77 comes straight in to Sinton from Waco. Again, lots of small towns and red lights, but it is the shortest in terms of mileage from the Dallas area. From Dallas, it's about a six or seven hour drive. Also, if the competition is indeed at Welder Wildlife Refuge, that's about five miles north of Sinton right on U.S. 77.

If you take I35 to San Antonio, you'd then take I37 south towards Corpus Christi. Just south of Mathis, you can take FM188 about 20 miles East into Sinton.

The best is 181 to Karnes city to Luling to Lockhart and hit the loop around that H#!! hole they call Austin.
