for the athletes. Some athletes may not qualify if they don't hold regionals, that would do well in State. Have seen a couple of comments on athletes holding back during district, knowing they can qualify for State in regionals.
In a round about way had something simlar to this in my high school days. The school district cancelled a whole year of sports due to a budget fight - yes - an entire year. Many friends lost out on their senior year of athletics and missed out on many scholarship opportunities because of it. I'm not talking Div I type athletes, they still had offers, but ones who would have gotten something from Div II schools etc. I can see the same thing happening to some kids here.............
