I think it will be Diboll in a close one. Coldsprings really hasn't streched there legs yet IMO. If Coldsprings comes out and holds on to the ball and play smart football it could be a win for the Trojans. If I was a gambling man I would pick Diboll by 7.

Hey, I understand, if we just beat a top ten team, I'd probably bet on us, too.

What's really fun is seeing the guys this year as opposed to last year. Last year they had to come online and see how people said they couldn't stop anyone and know they had no say in the priority of the team. To have a defensive minded coach as we do now, the guys told him that they had a good record last year and could move the ball on anyone, but this year they wanted to shut people down and, in turn, stop the criticism.

I think we have as many defensive schemes this year as we had offensive plays last year. Plus it's an honor to play defense this year, it's a place the guys are proud to be because the coaching effort is on that side of the ball, too. I can't tell you how many times I have been in Coach Lymas' office this year and he's on the phone talking to Coach Dykes about defense.

If our offense comes around this week, if the fumbles are at a minimum, our defense can hold the team I saw last week in Diboll. In fact, HJ's QB had a better passing scheme than what I saw in Carthage, not running but passing. If Diboll beats us, it'll be because the offense couldn't be fixed this week. If not, it could very easily be an overtime game. Safe game to Diboll.

I'm pulling for Coldspring. But I think they have their work cut out for them.

Accually, I'll stick with my pick, but will say that I think Coldsprings can pull an upset...

wink I think Coldspring will take it this week. Diboll beat Carthage but I thought they were overrated anyway.

Man, these strength polls are for the birds, one poll has us losing by 18, one by 29. It's like SLAP SLAP !! Amazing.

Um, it won't be by 29. I can handle being an underdog, we were 15 point underdogs last year to them and won, but unless a major injury(s) happen, it won't be that much. Geez louise, do they even read what they write sometime? I don't even think Matthew would make us 30 down, if nothing else but out of courtesy. LOL

I'm not really going to put either team as an underdog b/c I would not watn to jinx it! But from what i've heard Coldspring has a little bit of size but are really really quick! Just about like Diboll. Guess we will be watching a track meet/football game! Good Luck!

I sure appreciate the way Diboll's #99 plays. He's as tough of a player as there is, and yet picks up many guys he blocks or puts down. He and my son went head to head several times last year in the game and he liked his style of play, too. Sorry I don't know his name, but if he reads this board, props to ya, big guy.

Injury report is everyone is healthy here, just got a clearance on one player from the dr this morning, which is good. Hope to see ya there, big69.

#99 for diboll is David Raymond, he's a sr. this year. From watching the last few games, it sure looks like he stepped it up this year. He's really making big plays and hopefully they will keep coming. good luck this friday to both teams.

Thanks for the info. He is pulling his weight, for sure, on both sides of the ball. Rbarker, he reminds me of Killa except a tiny bit bigger. He plays the game right. When you play both ways and have enough to help the opposite side to their feet in the fourth quarter, you can tell he's done the running.

Yeah, he's head buster! But for him he had a little too much! He got a slight concussion Friday and had to be taken to the hospital. Hopefully he might be better to play this Friday but still no word on how he is. We could sure use him!

by the way , my prediction of the score - i say Diboll 28 - Coldsprings 14, I remember when i first seen coldsprings play back in 99 football season, for the bi-district championship at Bowers Stadium at SHSU. Coldspings had some good players that year. Diboll ended up winning the game, and lost in the next round to the eventual state champs Newton.

No way, 69, is he ok?! I mean is he still there in the hospital? You know at the end of the game I saw him come out and hold his pants like he was out of breath and saw him, like, stumble to the left and I thought it looked like something wasn't right. Yea, he played a good game Friday, he didn't get suckered with Carthage's fakes like they did y'alls.

Man, health above playing. Will definitely remember him in our prayers. Any team needs as many of his kind of player as they can get.

Mistanice, that was the 98 season. You guys gave it to us 37-24. In 99 we had a terrible 2-8 with Coach Velastro's brother in his first year as Coach. Good memory though. If you missed last year's game you missed a good one, though. Was the first of 3 close wins we had, with you guys (32-28), Splendora (36-34) and then Liberty (22-21).
