Make posts on closed threads?

No one can respond to your posts!

But I'd probably be sure to get the last word in if I could get away with it too.

No, I've said many times I would kill 3ADL.

I just don't see the point in mods responding to posts in closed threads when the posters have no opportunity to make a counterpoint.

I think if a thread is closed there should be no more posts made on it by anyone.

Did you not read my post? If I was a mod the board would die. I would kill it! I do not want that to happen. Thus I do not want to be a mod!

That would be about as productive as me being a mod.

and.....another thing............there have been times that I have posted on closed a thread and not known it was closed.

The "post reply" button turns into a "closed" button, but will still let the mods reply if the click on it. There have been times that I have clicked the button, made a reply and never knew the thread was locked!!

That's what happens when you post so much.....you just do it automatically and don't even have to read!!:D

I think that statement goes a long way in accurately describing a bunch of the quibbles and arguments that lead to locked threads in the first place! People see a topic, don't read, and just hit the reply and let things fly!

I didn't mean I don't read the thread. I meant I don't read the "post reply" button and see that it now actually says "closed" before I post!!!

Oh, I understood what you meant...I was just saying that in general, its seems that certain topics prompt some people to hit reply without reading anything just because they feel strongly about a subject and could care less what anybody else has said.

True.....that is probably a pet peeve of mine.

They "quote" something on the first few threads before they read on through and make sure someone hasn't already discussed it.

I notice that a lot when someone makes a mistake. Someone will quote it and pop off, never bothering to read on down and see if someone else addressed it already......that person always looks up looking like an idiot themselves, IMO!!:p :D
