If the UIL sticks to what they plan .
Cuero boys could be hurt with distric times.
The boys pulled up at end of relays. They were not being pushed much at all. And it could cost them a chance at there 4th state championship in last 5 years. We can only hope there distric times are in the top 4 times that go on to state in each Reg. It would be sad for this group not to show off just how fast they can run against best in state.

Yeah, dealing with what has happened is a tough pill to swallow.
Hope it all works out for the Gobblers.

Looks like their 4x100 will make it, but their 4x400 looks like will be ranked 5th and only taking top 4 puts them out.

Yes you are right. And that is not a good thing. They run alot faster than that distric time. And looks like may not be able to show it. Were do they rank in 4 X 200 ?

how's the 4 x 200 looking? Mile Relay doesn't surprise me. I do hope the 4 x 100 and 4 x 200 make it (whether it's the top 4 or qualify at Regional)

Is it just me or does everyone else see why you should not just take the top 4 times per region. First of all they were not run on the same track, with the same condions, or the same competition. Take everybody that qualified for regionals and run the heats you need to, or do not take anybody and this is the end of the road.

You will never be able to qualify everyone under the same conditions on the same track. The state meet is the only meet where everything is level across the board.

You qualify everybody in the same conditions at district. then at same conditions at region. Then everybody that makes it to state has the same conditions when they compete against each other. Region 4 has notoriosly slow times at thier region meet due to high winds and humidity, but they always do well at state.

I know. But there are new circumstances this year. But people from different regions will always have arguments about conditions and times.

I know and there are always arguments within regions also. Texas is so Big and the regions are large but there are just to many variables to make this fair.

I took the original statement as an implication that RQ's had some bearing on state qualifiers.

Don't bother! P4 already tried to in PM's and it didn't work.

I am so glad they changed the date...Did any of you guys notice that the 200m kid from AP (he got third at state last year) wasn't going to make it if they had kept the 'skip regionals' schedule? I also heard the high jumper from Flatonia (he's gone 6'10'' this year) wouldn't have made it cause he stopped jumping once he had the district meet won to save his legs for other events. I am sure there are numerous other stories like this that made the UIL have to change their tune.

Yeah, lots of people would have been screwed. I just wish they didn't have to move the state meet back quite so much.
