Sweeny Softball Warm up Games

Sweeny softball team was scheduled to play Friday night vs Magnolia. They were to play at Katy Mayde Creek. Don't know about the rain.

Sweeny will also play Saturday at 10am in a home game against Houston Westside.

Sweeny softball won 2-0 over Class 4A Magnolia.

Sweeny improves record to 26-1. I'll be back after today's game against 5A Houston Westside @10 in Sweeny.

I know class doesn't mean anything; just thought I would let people from out of the area know what class they are in.

Houston Westside 2-0 over Sweeny.

Great pitching matchup between #1 for Westside and the Sweeny Freshman pitcher they had on the mound.

Anybody know anything about if Westside is in the 5A Playoffs; I'll try to find something.

Westside is in 20-5A, where the big dog is Bellaire. Standings according to www.texasprepsoftball.net, as of 4/15:

With 4 teams going to the playoffs in 5A, even though there are several games left after the above records, Westside looks like a lock for the playoffs.

I think it was a good idea to play a 5A playoff team to ready yourself for the other playoff competition you will see.
