For me, probably Stafford vs Snead in the 2005 semifinals.

Stafford vs Harrell in 05

Manual Johnson vs Stephen Hodge in 04

Now , that was a good one Gilmer won 60-35 on the way to state championship....both ended up at different positions in college , Hodge will be drafted and Johnson I feel should be , but will get a free agent chance , I am sure

yea it was a good one..of course Johnson was playing "out of position" that year lol

Hodge was amazing that game because he basically was playing on one ankle

I would've loved to have seen that Sulphur Springs/Dayton game. Tyrik Rollison was awesome all year, but so was Cody Green (I believe that's who it was). That was one heck of a shootout!

That was the only game I missed in '07, I had to work. I saw the replay of it on TV the next morning, though. Two awesome athletes going toe-to-toe. McNeil was a real playmaker that reminded me a lot of Manuel Johnson in '04. Too bad the way that one ended, though.:dispntd:

only reason i dont think of Stump vs McNeil in that light was Gilmer at the time was more about Justin Johnson

The best HS QB matchup I remember seeing in person was in 1998 between Brownwood's Colby Freeman and (I can't remember who the QB was at Stephenville). Colby ran the option to perfection and the Lions gave the eventual state champ Jackets their only loss of the season 40-35 (in S'ville).

2007: Stump Godfrey (Gilmer) vs. Vince McNeil (Roosevelt)

2008: Stump Godfrey (Gilmer) vs. SiDarius Blackshire (Carthage)

Kelan Luker-that offense broke a national record for yards gained in a season!

Yep that was a good game. Both qb's were fun to watch.

How about:

Canton (GJ Kinne) vs. Gilmer (qb? Johnson?) in that amazing OT playoff game at Rose stadium.

Gilmer's QB was Jamile Hollaway (who is now at SMU) that year and it was not over time , just a 61-58 Canton win
