Ashamed to say that I haven't kept up very well with the boys and girls in baseball this season. Can you bring me up to date on both teams? Thanks.

Do not know the average's of the Marlow boy's ( sophmore and Junior)from Giddings but last I heard they had 15 or 16 Hrs. together about half and half. Coaches son's, short stop and second base. Pretty impressive.

I don't even bother keeping up with batting averages. Never had a college coach ask me what a kid's average is either. I know who my top hitters are and I'm content with that. Had a parent ask me yesterday who had the best BA (I assumed the question was baited going in) and I replied that it was Joe Blow. Of course I had no idea and could care less, but I knew Daddy was gonna say it was his kid and I wasn't going to walk into that trap. I know that Mama keeps a book every game and I know that Mama's like to fudge about how their own little Johnny does. I'm sure not one team has made an error when he hit the ball and everytime he reached first whether it was a walk or an HBP it was recorded as a single. Some people need the status for their own ego, I just want wins. That's the only category that makes any difference to me.

it would be interesting to see how many of these .500 and up are actually legit. i think a lot of coaches tend to not count errors...if the get on base...it is a hit, regardless of how the defense played the ball...

Sinton players averages are 99.9% correct!:D its been hard at times as the scoreboard will flash if its a E or H but later found out it was different on visiting score card and Sinton stats. I've notice the score board keeper is more accurate in calling it a hit or error but that might not show up in next days paper as the same thing
