District 27 - 3A AND 28 - 3A Standings

What are the current standings for both district's?

Who has to play on Monday due to rain?

La Vernia 8-0 (18-5)
Marion 6-2 (10-8)
Poteet 5-3 (18-11)
Luling 5-3 (9-7)
Somerset 2-6 (5-13)
San Antonio Hawkins 1-6 (2-17)
San Antonio Houston 0-7 (0-14)

Being a 7-team district, it should be a 12 game district schedule; therefore, 4 games still to play after the above standings.

28-3A (thru 4/15):
Yoakum 7-1 (20-6)
Gonzales 6-2 (12-11)
Goliad 4-4 (9-14)
Edna 4-4 (6-6)
Cuero 2-6 (9-8)

Being a 6-team district, it should be a 10 game district schedule; therefore, 2 games still to play after the above standings.

The forum on that site does list a little more:

Check out the bracket I have posted on www.eteamz.com/needville. It's the UIL bracket with teams listed based on the lastest standings I could find. Teams in red have NOT clinched their spot yet, teams in green HAVE clinched their spot. Therefore, some of the red teams will change based on remaining games played (could even have some teams not on the list take a spot if they come from behind).

Wow, quite a difference from what I posted above. www.texasprepsoftball.net says the standings are from "Coach Manley and mysantonio.com 4.4.09"

Again, a big difference. www.texasprepsoftball.net says the ones I posted are from "Coach Mann 4.15.09"

The forum on that site does list individual game scores throughout district.

I am pretty sure that no one in District 28 played Friday - assume all games will be made up on Monday

Does anyone know the District rules for this District in regards to playoffs. Does it go head-to-head first or does this not come into affect? Just wondering how the playoff spots were determined because it looks like this District has a chance of 3 teams finishing with the same record with only 2 playoff spots left.

it appears, if I am reading the standings right, if Edna beats Gonzales and Yoakum loses to Cuero Friday night it will be a 3 way tie and I assume this will result in a playoff amongst these 3 teams to see who gets the 2nd and 3rd spot because if Edna beats Gonzales they will have split for the year. Could be very interesting Friday night.
