Houston joined Chicago & Dallas and became the third road team to win game one. Yao Ming was perfect, shooting 9-9 from the field and 6-6 from the freethrow line, scoring all of his 24 points in the first half. Aaron Brooks led the Rockets with 27 points, Luis Scola scored 19 and Ron Artest chipped in 17. Houston shot almost 59% from the field, but it was their team defense that stifled the Blazers. The Rockets outrebounded the Blazers 44-30, led by Yao & Mutombo with 9 each. Good game by Deke, as he recorded 2 block shots and got his 9 boards in just 18 minutes of action.

I heard Yao called out Coach from 3adownlow in his interview after the game.

Yao took the blazer-boys to school in the 1st 6 minutes of the game. Deke handed out diploma's the 2ed half-LOL...
