What do you do with your coin change? I put mine in a crystal bowl in the entry hall and my wife rolls it up when it gets full. Funny thing is--I haven't seen one dime of that rolled money.

Did you have a piggy bank as kid? Do kids still have them?

Did you get money from mom and dad when you were growing up or did you have to earn it?

all my spare change gets tossed in the cup holder deals of the car and then when those are full i'll put them in a jar and once that is full, i'll roll 'em up and take 'em to the bank!

I have four one gallon pickle jars. One for each coin. Unfortunately
the penny jar is the one that fills up the most often.:(

We put all of ours in a 5 gallon water jug.....don't know what happens when it gets full, that hasn't happened yet!

I use my debit card almost exclusively now, so I don't generate the change I used it back in the old days!

We had to do chores to get our allowance.

ive got a old pickle jug as well.... usually when i dont want to buy something i need ill look to see if i have enough. last time was about 2 months ago my car battery died, went and cashed out the jar and had enough for a new battery, a few drinks from sonic and bowling.

parents didnt give us money, they gave my older brother a paper route and it worked its way down all 4 of us.

I have been saving my change for about forty years. None of it is rolled. It's in five gallon paint buckets in the garage. I have no idea how much there is. I'm thinking over a hundred dollars by now.

Chunk it in a folgers coffee can, wrap it up, take it to the bank, and then my wife takes it to the casino's in Bossier City... and.....well you know the rest....start filling up the can again!

our change goes in the popular pickle jar. Mr44 just recently "cashed in" his change at TDECU - they have one of those fancy coin counting machines and they don't make you roll it up. Pretty cool :0 and they don't take a "cut" either. I'd say the jar fills up every 12 months or so and we get anyway from $325 to $400 out of it. Now that it's just the 2 of us at home, that figure has gone down alot (and cause we use debit cards more than cash)

Don't waste you time rolling it the banks have to recount it unrolled because we might not know how to count.I just put mine in savings, it turns out to be quiet a bit over a year. Of course it helps I use cash almost exclusively unless I'm paying a bill through the mail. I don't have a debit card and I hate credit cards I just got a credit card last sept. because they wouldn't let me reserve a hotel room without one.

I throw mine in a tall slim Pringles potato chip can, usually right at a $100 when filled. My bank has the free coin machine.

I went to Mexico a few years ago and cashed in my 5 gallon water jug with 400 bucks in it. My bank would not take the money if it wasn't rolled.

I work for a bank and our "rule of thumb" is that is has to be rolled and you have to bank with us. Usually the teller that takes it just turns it back around and gives it out in a change order for a commercial customer...we don't re-count it. :)

As for me personally, I throw mine in the bottom of my purse until it gets too heavy. Then I take it out, walk it across the lobby and exchange it. They don't make me roll my own.:D

I would empty my pockets every night fpr about five years. I finally rolled it all up and cashed it in at the bank. It was over $700.00. If you've been doing for 40 years, it's a lot more than a hundred.;)

We throw it in a coffee can & use the quarters to fill up the water jugs. A couple of years ago, hubby went to the can and it was empty after being half full. Apparently the school was having a "bring your change to help fight cancer" thing at school. Brandon had taken it for the fundraiser, after counting to make sure how much it was. ($62)

Maybe I need to find a bank like that every roll of quarters $9.75. But on the flip side if I were the guy getting my commercial change and it was short I would be pissed. IMO banks need to count the change just makes for good business.

I have a can about the size of a COKE CAN filled with change. Full it holds about $30 worth of change.

We have a glass jug that has at least $600 in it.

We keep change in a big tubby. I keep the pennies separate, but dimes, nicks and quarters are all thrown in together. I used to let my kids roll them for extra money, but they are grown and gone now, so it keeps piling up. I'll have to admit, it hasn't piled up as much during the past 6 months lol. Darn recession.

I got money on an as needed basis growing up. I still had to "earn my grub" every day as my father would put it. Lots of chores growing up.
My kids get allowances but they have to do chores every day... it builds character, I think. Or does it make characters... I haven't figured that out yet. :D
