just found it:

1982 Atlanta Braves and 1987 Milwaukee Brewers with 13 consecutive wins to start the season.

The Mariners played a 162 game season, and went 116-46. The Cubs had ten fewer losses, as they were playing a 154 game season, and they had two rainouts that they didn't make up.

NEITHER OF THOSE TEAMS WON THE WORLD SERIES

Speaking of those Tigers...

They'll be the ones to put an end to this pipe dream of going
162-0 Friday and by Sunday, when Tiger fans are bringing the
brooms to Comerica Park, reality will have truly set in with
Ranger fans.:D

Bringing the broom on Sunday for what? Cleaning up the remains of the demoralized and demolished Tiger team that's still there?

My biggest worry is that ya'll will get a shot at Verlander who
was blown up by Toronto on opening day. He didn't make it out
of the fourth inning and has an ERA of 19.95.

They wore blue all weekend.

3-0 in red, 0-3 in blue...if the last 36 years of the franchise hasn't been enough, red wins, blue loses.

You may be on to something there, crzy. The last time the Rangers ever won anything they were wearing red. I'm not superstitious or anything, so I say it's probably a matter of the usual poor pitching performances, mostly out of the bullpen, and not being able to get the timely hits with runners on base. The bats were silenced pretty much in Detroit. The Rangers will be okay if they can ever get any bullpen consistency..........errrr, GOOD performances out of the bullpen. Lately, they've been consistent alright........consistently bad!:(

I took off Friday and watched them on FSSW. The TV Guide
channel said that FSSW was also going to air Saturday and
Sunday's games. They aired the pre and post game shows and
filled the middle with the World Poker Tour and the 50 Best Damn
whatever.

I don't understand why Texas would black out a game being played
in Detroit.

FSN expanded their coverage this year of games by 50 over their previous offerings, but some markets have balked at picking up the price associated with those extra 50 games. Basically, all of the games will be broadcast in DFW, but about 50 or so that are listed as on FSN will not be shown outside of the local market...

here's the info explaining it all:
