An Ungrateful Business

Whataburger was established in 1950 in Corpus Christi and has really grown since that start. Corpus Christi and the South Texas area were the ones that helped them get started during the early hard years. Now with the economy not doing so well and at a time when Corpus Christi needs them they have decided to move their National Headquarters from Corpus Christi to San Antonio. Such is the world of business.

There are reasons why, Phil. Some of the same reasons HEB had for doing the same thing. Better transportation system, closer to their overall operations, etc.

Corpus doesn't usually suffer a LOT of hurricane damage because it's shielded by the barrier island. Storm surges get spread down the island.
