Burnetbulldog i know u were just inputing what u were told but burnet fans didnt pack the bleachers, more like one third of their side. Good Game Pirates. Pirates was more than half full. dont know the attendance but i would guess 7 to 8000 with burnet being around 3000.

Burnet did have a nice turnout. :) But it was more like 3/5 Sinton to 2/5 Burnet(a little generous). I went to the middle of the field to see, just for this reason. I don't think many will argue that. The time of the game kept both sides down, because many people had to work(I got off today :D ). The Burnet crowd was very vocal as was the Sinton side!

JCMARAUDER must be high. He is correct in saying we did not fill the bleachers. At least 100%. It was at least 85% full though and was still full at the end of the game. Sinton's bleachers started emptying midway through the 3rd. McGee got sacked two maybe three times and quite a few hurries. Good D for Sinton in that respect. However don't throw stones at quarterbacks. Sinton's QB had 3 throws. One interception, one 8 yard completion that was mostly because of the run after catch, and an incomplete. Quit cry JCMARAUDER...Sinton is not in Burnets league this year. It was a better game last year.

About the crowd, I too looked from the middle and unless the home side is a lot bigger than the visitors, I would say it was a pretty close match up on the crowds. It really doesnt matter enough for any of us to worry about it here though. We both had a great turn out and what a beautiful day for football! You guys played a great game. Hopefully we can both meet up again same time next year. As I thought, it wasnt a bad drive and we had some great seafood before the game, back home in Burnet by 10:00. Just a great time and a great day. Best wishes till next year.

I might have been seeing things but didn't Burnet fill the stands solid from the north endzone to about a quarter of the way into the southmost section? I would almost swear we had more fans in the bleachers than Sinton. If not in the first half then definitely by midway through the 3rd. I am just curious if it was such a short drive to Sinton and their fans are so good, why did they not support them until the end, regardless of the outcome.

You have to ask yourself what your team must think when they look up and see a large portion of their fan base deserting them before the game is over. I will never understand how fans could walk out on a team as good as Sinton. For a team to work so hard and to make it as far as they did, they certainly deserve for all of the fans to stay till the very end, win or lose. The Jr. High School teams from Sinton are called the "Marauders". I'm gonna pick up a copy of the San Pat News and show Burnet how they should cover their sports. Last time I was in Burnet they barely had coverage about their team one way or the other http://www.click-smilies.de/sammlung0903/alles_moegliche/mixed-smiley-027.gif. I might have been seeing things but didn't Burnet fill the stands solid from the north endzone to about a quarter of the way into the southmost section? I would almost swear we had more fans in the bleachers than Sinton. If not in the first half then definitely by midway through the 3rd. I am just curious if it was such a short drive to Sinton and their fans are so good, why did they not support them until the end, regardless of the outcome.Sintons fans were leaving in droves in the 3rd. Those of you that stayed to support your guys are definatly the true fans. You have a team that you can truely be proud of..
I talked to a few Sinton backers from CC at halftime from the stadium. I would guess many of those left. No excuses! Sinton did GREAT this year and didn't let anyone down.
75, Burnet stayed cuz they had nowhere to go.
The Sinton fare-weather fans from CC were leaving. I talked to several Sinton fans who had to work on Friday, no matter what.
I had that crappy, no-fizz Dr. Pepper, too! I swear, it's a Corpus thing...
http://burns.thefinaldimension.org/contrib/sally/indifferent.gifDarn it Sinton Fan, Ive tried to be nice here, but now im really PI$$ed, to think that your the one that got all the flat Dr. Pepper really burns me up. They were sold out when I went to get one. I bet it was just another Sinton conspericy to have more flat on the Sinton side than on the Burnet side. wink wink wink wink

http://burns.thefinaldimension.org/contrib/sally/indifferent.gifYour right, I really didnt think about the non Sinton, Sinton supporters. As we advance through the play offs, we all pick up a lot of fans from other areas that have no reason to stay when it is obvious that the game is lost.
I guess Ive just seen it happen a few times during district games when there werent any area followers in the crowd and its always ticked me off.

FYI- the post about no coverage of the Bulldogs in the Burnet paper?? The entire sports page(s) are about nothing but the Bulldogs- what paper did you read?? Granted, the Austin American Statesman has not done a lot of press on us,but this town thrives on the athletes it is so proud of. As for leaving games early, win or lose, when a team has advanced this far into post-season their fans should stay until the end and show them how proud they are of the accomplishment. I guarantee that Burnet's crowd would have stayed, no matter how far the drive.

Yes The Bulldogs did win the game. The score was closer then i thought it would be but we still won. There were a few bad calls like the face mask but both teams played a good game.

I just want to say congratulations to Burnet on there win. Go out there and win a State Title for Region 4!!!
To my Pirates: Congratulation on a fine year. Like everyone has been saying, you have nothing to hold your heads down to. You made it a lot farther than what most people expected. I am proud to be a Pirate for that and many other reasons. I hope next year I get to make it to some of the games and cheer you guys on. I would also like to meet some you guy on the downlow as well. Finally being able to put faces to these names I see on here.

You have a team that you can truely be proud of.I seem to remember the radio announcers commenting about all the Burnet fans that were leaving early last year against Everman when Everman started to put the game away. You have those kinds of fans in every town, even in Burnet. Those that hang around even when the chips are down are the true fans.

That's why I said "no harm no foul". I was just explaining that for all of the rest of the posters. It didn't sound like it, did it? :D I was getting a little loopy after all that adrenaline wore off from the game.
I did spent some time this weekend sprucing up the house for Christmas.
