Shortstop and leadoff hitter Jalyn Erwin is batting .444, right fielder Trish Hock is batting .481, and returning All State centerfielder Candyce Carter is batting .534. LaGrange is 16-1 and has split two games with state ranked 4A Elgin. Needville led Burkburnett 5-0 in four innings before the wet field was deemed unplayable. Needville beat Columbia 2-1 and Royal 15-0. Van beat Eustace 16-0, Wills Point blanked Canton 5-0, Mineola defeated Eustace 10-3 and Kemp lost to Van 24-0 and to Canton 25-0. Van is 18-0. Bullard beat Spring Hill 3-2, then edged 4A Lindale 3-2. In a wild game, Rusk, behind the pitching of Callie Collins, beat Huntington 1-0 in 12 innings with the winning run scored on a passed ball. Carly Thomas pitched for Huntington. Huntingotn then edged Carthage 2-1. Splendora beat Huffman, and Hamshire Fannett beat Bridge City 5-3. Burkburnett beat Celina 4-2.

Van has a good chance to be undefeated in the regular season. To me Van's pitching is good but not as dominate as it was in our recent trips to state. However, offensively Van appears to be much better than in years past. We'll see come playoff time.

Ironic Van and LG are one and two. Would be great to see another match up at the State tournament this year!

Couldn't make that game but listened to it. Sounded like a heck of a game. A little payback would be nice :D
