Did y'all hear what the UIL did to District 8AAA?

These changes are to all sports but football...guy and girl sports.

8AAA's new district:

My mistake...its Boerne.

They way i understand it is Rouse and Vandergrift applied to be placed in a district so they could play varsity sports and be eligible to make playoffs.

More confusing... Boerne will not be eligible for playoffs.
The Boerne ISD web site says - "With regard to football only, BHS is re-opening in the midst of a two year UIL alignment and must therefore play an open schedule without opportunity for the varsity team to participate in the UIL play-offs in that one sport."

Pilot Point and us (Whitesboro) went through the same thing last year ('07-'08). We both played football in District 9-3A and everything else in District 8-3A...not even in the same region!

leander rouse has a great freshman basketball team this year. they could have beat any jv team in 8aaa this year.

This will be for spring sports only. Football,basketball and other fall sports will be the same 8 3a as now.

They didn't have basketball up the other day when I looked. A few minutes ago, I didn't realize that I was looking at 2008-09 and wondered when they changed it back. :doh: :doh: When I figured that out, I wondered what the "+" were for. :doh: :D

LH's JV was 22-3.

Rouse's Fish team was 12-14. That is their A team's record by the way.

The same thing is probably gonna happen again in 2011 after the two new Frisco schools open up, just like it did in 2007. I think one school opens in 2010 and the other in 2011. Who gets moved will depend on the geography of the new districts.

You'd think the UIL could plan ahead for this type of thing. But when you try to presuppose what the UIL does, sometimes you can get in trouble.

I know those kids at Rouse and they are very good athletes but the only teams LH jv lost to were 4A and 5A.

LH JV lost to Copperas Cove in the Burnet Tourney. The championship game in the JV bracket was Copperas Cove and Burnet. Copperas Cove won the Burnet tournament. Leander was not in this particular tournament.

One of the Frisco schools will play a varsity schedule in 2010.....Frisco Heritage I think....Lone Star won't play varsity football til 2012

Seems like both Leander Rouse and Leander Vandergrift will both play varsity football in 2010.....wonder what class they will be?? I think Frisco Heritage will start at 4A

They kept the football districts the same in 2007, too. But they switched Whitesboro and PP in all other sports once Frisco Liberty came on board.

leander was in the tournement. burnet beat them by 2 points., and no, burnet did not win the tournement.
