The Sealy boys and the Giddings girls claimed the Dist. 25-3A track and field crowns.
The Giddings girls scored 218 points to runners-up Sealy with 118 while the Sealy boys scored 170.5 to Giddings’ 152 points. In the JV division Sealy boys took first and Giddings girls claimed their division.
Kayla Winkfield was leader in girls’ points with 31 while Keanna Winkfield was second with 29. Sealy’s Orie King was top point winner with 33 while Giddings’ Xavier Daniels scored 32.
On Wednesday the Sealy boys came away with 75+ points in field events and that pretty much set the tone on the outcome. Sealy’s numbers competing in boys track had them placing in just about every event and in many they had two or three among the top six places.
The Smithville boys have some speed but not enough competing as they came in first in the 100 meters, sprint relay and pole vault. Bellville ended the evening in a fine note as their boys won the 4X400 relay with the starting runner taking a lead and they never were really challenged. Their time was 3:23.49. Smithville’s winning 4X100 time was 42.56 while Sealy won the 4X200 in a time of 1:30.15.
Team totals were boys: Sealy 170.5, Giddings 152, Smithville 111, Bellville 108, Columbus 49, La Grange 27.5; Girls: Giddings 218, Sealy 118, La Grange 94, Bellville 93, Columbus 49, Smithville 45

?????????????????????????????????????????????????? ??????

IS THAR ANYBODY THAT REALLY COMES IN SECOND WHEN YOU LOSE BY 100 POINTS.

"NOW ITS JUST A BY GAWD QUESTION"

BESIDES THEY FIRED A THUMP THUMP COACH FER A LETT'N HIS GIRLS RUN THE SCORE UP ON ANOTHER TEAM BY A 100, I SAY BY GAWD THEY BETTER BE A FIREN SUMBODY IN GIDDENS FER A RUNN'N UP THE SCORE LIKE THAT,JUST AIN'T RIGHT.
