I played golf at the course in Oak Cliff. Definitely was out of place there.

my grandfather was telling me that back when he went to school in dallas and lived there in the 50's that Oak Cliff was the ritsy, upscale part of Dallas with a lot of old family money.....and what part of Oak Cliff were those picks took in?!?! everytime i've been unfortunate enough to wind up there its looked nothing like that...i mean i saw not one lowrider or "dubbed" vehicle and not one hooker or homeless person!!..lol

Thats the big misconception about the Cliff....its not really all that "hood" there are some very nice old homes all throughout there...the area around Kimball is fairly nice....just normal middle class....Oak Cliff is a very large area so it can't really be classified as a neighborhood because its way too big.....

that was the same misconception about Dallas Carter in 88..alot of people thought it was a poor school in a poor "hood" but at the time it was one of the richest African American neighborhoods in America

I was bon in the Old Chester Clinic Hospital in South Dallas. The street I lived on in the early 1960s (near the VA) is kind of scary now. But you are right. There are really some pretty homes throughout Oak Cliff. It's just like any big city, there are pockets of good and not so good.
