I am trying to remember the name of a book and the author about Texas Football that was about the Texas vs Arkansas shootout in 1969. Coaches Royal and Broyles wrote the introductions. It was published in 1970. It is not the recent Horns, Hogs and Nixon in Arkansas published a few years ago.
Can anyone help?

Game Of The Century

It focused mostly on JUST the game itself..had drive charts and everything

I can think of two: "Horns, Hogs & Nixon Coming"
"Dixie's Last Stand."

There was also one called Red River Shootout that was pretty good, but I don't remember the intos by the coaches.

Tx I think that was the name of it. Do you happen to remember the author? I can't find any information on it on the internet. What is sad is that I have a copy somewhere in my house but can't find it.

I cannot either and my copy of the book is at my parents house..I will do some more digging

I remember it has an all white cover and was a GREAT book on the game itself with 3 deep charts and great game pics

Right you are Tx. I remember the book had a little poem in it called Ode to the System which was written by a UT student who was critical that UT students didn't get their share of tickets to the game. It was very witty and sadly somewhat true.

Right you are Old! Thanks for your research and sharing the information. And thank you for your efforts too Tx.

Now watch the book turn up at my house after I got the information I needed. LOL

There was also a great article in the 1982 issue of Texas Football about it. Very good read...
