My 1911 never jams either and I run some really crappy ammo through it. But I keep it so clean you could eat out of it.

It's not about jamming or misfiring.....Glocks...ESPECIALLY in the earlier .40 are known for going "KABOOM" ...especially if you're running "hot loads". Something to do w/ the head spacing gap being too large in the chamber IIRC. Couldn't GIVE me a Glock....gimme a Springfield XD all day long.

I have an older Model 27 that is in a .40, I run cheap stuff through it all the time. I heard about the "kaboom" glocks, supposedly they fixed alot of the problems.

I really do like the springfield XDs, I want one if .45 ACP but I just bought a new tactical mini-14 instead at the austin gun show a couple weeks ago, I've actually been impressed with it compared to my AR. It's not quite as accurate (alot has been said about how bad the accuracy is on the olders ones) but it's pretty darn close and it's just seems to be really reliable, it goes boom every time i pull the trigger.

Yeah....honestly I've always heard if you run the off the shelf stuff and don't try to run anything too hot through them they're fine. My wife has laid claim to my XD so I'm lookin at 1911s. I like the Springfield Operator and the Kimber Custom TLE/RL. Those Mini-14s are sweet!! I want one!!

Yeah. I really like 1911's for alot of reasons but right now the way things are, you can get two XDs for what one nice 1911 cost.

This is the Mini-14 I got, MSRP is $896 and I paid $670 out the door for one NIB, the people I bought it from where honestly cheap on every gun they had compared to even the tables next to them, needless to say they stayed really busy.

I think you jinxed me, lol. I went to the range yesterday and I have a .357 Sig barrel and heavier spring for my glock so I stopped and bought a box to run through it. I got through about 2 mags and had a gnarly jam, cleared it started going again and I pull the trigger and it goes boom but doesn't cycle, took forever to get the slide off and the brass is still stuck in the barrel. So after everything I said about never having misfeeds or jams, I guess their is a first time for everything.
