If in a timed game and time has run out they will go to International tiebreaker (ITB).

In ITB a new inning is played with the team batting placing a runner at 2nd (the last batter out in the previous inning) and play innings from there until a winner emerges. Sometimes progressive ITB is used should no one win after an inning, a runner is placed at second and third until a winner emerges.

Official championship softball games are 7 innings. If the game is tied after 7 innings the game will continue using the "International Tie-Breaker Rule". Under this rule, each team starts the inning with the player who completed the last official at bat, as a base runner on second base. Each subsequent inning will start the same until a winner has been determined.
