BREAKING NEWS: Wood resigns position as RISD athletic director

Robstown ISD Athletic Director Doug Wood submitted his resignation to the district Friday, although he will fulfill the remaining four months on his current contract, district officials have confirmed.
Superintendent Roberto Garcia said Wood submitted a one-sentence resignation letter around 10 a.m. Friday, but told the superintendent he intends to fulfill the remainder of his contract, which ends in June.
Garcia declined to comment on the resignation, and said it will not be official until it is accepted by the board of trustees. The school board is scheduled to address the item in its regularly scheduled meeting Tuesday.
