Well the time is finally.....FINALLY drawing near....

I have been on contract to go to Iraq and support the Marine Corps now for 5 months.....and the time has finally arrived. I'm about a week or two away from heading to CRC then off to the sandbox. It's about damn time...there's only so much of working from home a guy can handle!! LOL. I'll keep my DL buddies (YOU GUYS!) posted on the progress...hopefully I don't get bogged down w/ a buncha red tape and paperwork from here on out...which has been a NIGHTMARE up until now. For the last 5 months I've been doing paperwork, driving to Ft. Hood to basically be a human pin cushion, flying to Tampa, North Carolina for training, etc.....Anti-Terrorism, SERE, blah blah blah...you name it. I'm so paperwork and trained out I could scream. I'm ready to hit the dirt, pull in the big paychecks...and get some damn stuff paid off!!! I've got all of the websites I could find bookmarked so that I can listen to some good ole fashion Texas HS Football next season!! I'll be around! Wish me luck!

Congratulations on finishing the "training" and all the shots. Make sure you take your wife and a leather recliner. That was all I was really needing when I was there.

Irag is nothing like the emirates. Iraqis are much friendlier if you even get to have any contact with them. Unfortunately, you will be on a base and you will not get to venture into the local towns.
