Yea thats my question also. It appears running the curve in the 200 only adds less than 1.5 seconds. I dont see adding a second curve would add 3.5.
I might say you could maybe add 2 to 2.5 seconds for the curve + fatigue. Elite 1/4 milers run the 400 in a flat out sprint. Very few people can actually do that, but I wouldnt put it past Bolt.

You saw Bolt at his best in the 200. There is no telling what he could run a 400 in.

One of the benefits of living in Waco is that your kids get to work out with world class athletes.

I get to watch Jeramy Warner practice at Baylor's Track during summer track. When he runs 400's he hits every 100 meter mark at 11.5 seconds and there is no change in his stride from start to finish. When he works on starts he runs the full 100 m corner and his running 10s. Darold Williamson and Sanya Richards are also out there. It is mind boggling to watch them run. They are the definition of "Smooth"

Bolt may be able to run the 400 in 42.1, however you can also say he might be able to run it in 40 seconds flat or 45 seconds...there is no way to tell that until he actually runs it...he would be fast without a doubt but im not willing to say he'd be the fastest ever until he at least runs it once and i see what kinda time he runs...

I ran a 22.5 in the 200 and there is no way I ever ran under 50 in the 400.

My fastest 200 time is 22.02 but I could barely break into the 50's in the 400.

i have met jeremy wariner (he was at baylor when i was)....jeremy warner i dunno.....wariner never struke me as a classless punk, he just seems reserved and not outgoing....if you haven't met the guy and are just going by his media interviews immediately after he loses a race then u dont know the guy...if you actually met him then u got a different opinion than me....

the only thing i dont understand about wariner is y and how he dumped coach hart, but thats between him and Hart, hopefully he can figure out what is wrong w/ him and fix it for the next olympics...
