I heard today that Major League Baseball has passed a new rule that games going into extra innings would be handled differently. Apparently after the 13th inning they will require each team start the inning with a runner on 1st and a runner on 2nd....... Anyone else hear this crap????

This is not for MLB, it's for the 2009 World Baseball Classic.

they borrowed a page out of the olympic rules which do this after 9 or 10 innings i believe...the olympics borrowed the rule from ASA softball...maybe they will start letting them pitch underhand next if their arm gets tired....

The only rules that MLB has changed this offseason that I'm aware of are as follows:

1. No playoff game will be shorter than 8 1/2 innings. Any game that is stopped before then will be suspended and resumed.

2. Head-to-head regular season record will determine home-field advantage for one-game playoffs rather than coin tosses.

How about getting rid of the idiotic rule for the all-star game determining home field...That was just a dumb idea from the jump.

I heard they were going to put Spider-Man on the bases.
