Who are some players in 3A pretty much guaranteed of going to D-1 to play with the big boys?

Blaine Harrell out of Everman..he has got scouts interested in his speed size and strength at reciever..6'4 runs a 4.5 he is gonna likely be a D1 prospect..I know that tailback from Clarksville is D1 prospect..if he wasn't overshadowed by that guy from Forney umm what's his name?? LOL Hobbs from Clarksville is a stud...too bad he doesn't have any kind of help..

Brent Slaughter of Wimberley will get a D1 scholarship (linebacker).

Haven't seen him live this year, but the RB from Burnet (Miller?) has put up some good numbers and looks from the highlites I've seen so far like he has the size.

Kenyon Scott and Will Gulley from Newton. Scott is 6'4" 295 DL... he is an all-state prospect. Gulley runs a 4.5 and is 6'4" and weighs 180. He is also a probable first team all-state DB. Newton also has a linebacker who is a sophmore and plays like a senior. He will definetely be a d1 prospect.

Freddie Rollins of McGregor. This kid is only a junior. He will be a high one on the recruiters list next year!!

Darion Roberts Gatesvilles 6FT4IN 295PD strong guard has recieved several D1 letters. I think he is leaning towards TCU.

Matt Peebles from Bridge City is a 6'3" Junior. Matt is 4.4 or so; however, he runs split time at Tailback with Dwayne Breaux. If you followed any BC football you will know that Matt is an awesome Safety catching anything thrown except in the flats...Thats partly because he is a top-flight high hurdler. Some think that Matt will break the State 3A High hurdle record before he graduates. Unfortunately he has been hurt for the Vidor and LCM games with a deep shoulder bruise. He will be back in the backfield for the Newton District Championship game.

From South Texas, Mathis RB/LB Troy Collavo (6'1", 205 Lb., 4.4 speed). Possibly also, Jason Brittain (6'3", 190 Lb., 4.6 speed) LB from Sinton. Jason seems to always be double-teamed, but still puts up impressive numbers. These are the only 'close to slam dunks' from the Corpus area in 3-A that I've heard of.

I would have to say John Lampert from Wylie. He has a chance of getting a full ride in track from any D1 school he chooses, and probably in football too. He is a great overall athlete. Caleb Ensor of Wylie also has a big chance of going D1. He is playing really good considering he has two broken fingers. Both of these players have a lot of heart.

Zach Wilkerson LB is senior from Lamesa. He was hurt his junior season but was the defense newcomer his sophomore season. He knocked someone out every game his soph. season. Also Derrick Hunter Safety and WR his a solid pick for a D1 school. Kolby Page QB and punt returner is one of the fastest players in the state but is not very tall or big and will not hesistate to run you smooth over. Just ask University of Texas signee David Thomas from Class 4A Frenship.

Have just heard that Wylie RB Danny Ruth has been getting lots of interest from D1's and D2's. He's fast and strong, weighs 190 and can hold to the wear and tear on a running back.

Best D1 prospect in AAA is Lil' Russ Felts from Wylie. Don't let the nickname fool you. He's big, fast, strong. Has yet to play because of an injury. He transferred in this year and should go both ways at SS and Wideout.

Yea, Russ is a machine. He is one of the best players in the state no doubt. I wouldn't be suprised if he went D1.

Cody Wallace from Cuero...6-4, 295...he is pretty quick and very strong..squats close to 600 and bench around 350 or so..he is just a junior this year though...

HEY!!! I just heard that Russ Felts from Wylie will be playing against Sweetwater. He is taking the Merkel game off just to make sure he's fine, but he's back. This will be a big boost for the already powerful Bulldogs. Good luck Russ.

If Russ plays against Sweetwater you can bet that he'll shut down that QB of thiers. Russ is fast and can tackle in open field better than anyone I've ever seen. I saw him run down and catch a rabbit one time wearing a pair of boots. Russ was wearing the boots, not the rabbit.

Stickman, Bigdawg and Gunn08, you guys ought to be banned from this web site. The big stud that you guys are trying to have fun with is a junior high player! C'mon guys. Quit wasting everybody's time with stuff like this. It's counterproductive for everybody, and you do nothing to help the Wylie reputation.

RB/LB Brent Slaughter 6'1 215 4.40 of Wimberley is one of the best Linebackers in 3A, he will go D1, they will probably move him to safety.

We ought to be banned from this website for saying that. Riiiight. That's the dumbest reply I have ever heard. We are joking...crap, I forgot we ARE NOT allowed to make jokes of any sort on this website. I would like to apologize in behalf of stickman, gunn08, and myself, bigdawg, for trying to add some humor to the site.

Newton1 - I hate to break it to you, but if you have a 4.2 back, the NFL is jealous! Do you have any idea how few legit 4.2 people there are in the world??? Coach Barbay will straighten you out if you doubt these facts. By the way, an earlier post stated that Matt Peebles of BC runs a 4.4 40. He is really a 4.5 guy but deceptively fast. Now Will Gulley can fly for sure. He may be a legit 4.4 guy.

last night Danny Ruth #33 ran a 70 yard td run on the 3rd play of the game. He also scored one other in the game and also threw one td to #19 nick Santos in the game winning pass. He will go D1. He is a great athlete.

i agree with you bros, tj houston is huge. 6'4" and pure muscle. he plays with good intensity and is a great blocker. i haven't seen eagan throw too many passes to him, but watch out when he gets the ball.
