With the Sweetwater HC Application deadline set for February 6, 2009

[Sweetwater Red]

Sweetwater ISD currently has 53 applications.


My understanding is that all 53 applicants run a very balanced
offense and have won a state championship at some level in
their careers.

Okay the last part is not entirely true.:D

In all honesty, I was in Sweetwater visiting my parents and saw Mike Leach at the field house. I went up to him and said "Mike what are you doing here?" to which he replied "Sweetwater has everything I need to be successful, a strong defense, good running game but they never pass, so I know I can help out." I said "Mike, isn't this a huge paycut?" he replied "Yeah but it's all about the game man, we're going to be passing the ball 70+ times a game and we're going to show region 2,3, and 4 what West Texas football is all about."

I stood there amazed as he got into this pirate ship and left.

Well, T. Pittman made it pretty clear that they were only looking for
applicants with AD/HC experience. I guess that doesn't mean all
53 that have applied meet that criteria. But, if they do...it could
be just about anybody.

That is all very true, but I'm not sure you got the whole story. Stoops is looking for a house in Abilene so he can take over at Wylie once Sandifer leaves for Sweetwater.
