They're just in shock that there aren't any Region 2 3A state champions this year.......that's my guess anyhow.

Well its kinda hard for the greater Houston area to dominate when most of the schools are 5a.

We included just about everyone in Region 3 as Greater Houston.

Matt, I am sure that you did not mean to rig this thing, but when you divided four Regions I, II, III, IV into a bunch of slices- you gerrymandered the teams in grouping to try to prove what you sat out to prove----Gatesville, LaGrange Burkville and Lufkin are all in Region III-yet you split Region III in two to give you a gerrymandered numerical system. Actually, I think it is quite ingenious that you would go to the trouble to pare it out like you chose, to make you stats look favorable for you.

Along with a few other teams. Put them in region4 where the belong. I would like to see a list of the champions in each regionnot by what area.

Okay, let's look at this another way to prove the point for Jacket and Matthew328...

No one can dispute the 18 teams listed as D/FW area.

Old Card wants Burk and Lufkin dropped from east texas to SE texas. That changes the score from 10 to 8 for East Texas.

I won't change West Texas. I think you could argue Panhandle against West Texas, but for arguments sake, we'll leave it along and score it as 9.

Now, take all the others, including the 2 changes from east texas and combine them together... That scores as a 15 if I did my math right.

Final Talley...

D/FW area = 18
West Texas = 9
East Texas = 8
All others combined = 15

That's a pretty good run for the area....

(Man, I can tell this is gonna be a long offseason where all we will have to do is talk either stuff like UWBW or argue stuff like "Most Dominant Football Region for the last XX years Not Rigging boundary lines and making sure results are cool". :D :D :D Wow, how many days 'til more HS Football? wink )

R2 1 state champ. R3 2 state champs. R4 2 state champs. Did not include 6man champs. Could not find out what region they were from. Looks like R1 was the best this year.

The research wasn't done based on UIL regions yet state geographical regions...UIL regions change every 2 years and a lot of times teams bounce around from Region 1 to Region 2 or vice versa or Region 3 to Region 2 or Region 4 to Region 3...you get the picture..LOL There was no gerrymandering...UIL regions played no part in my lil research project..only what part of the state each team was located...the point was to prove that in my opinon there is no question where the best football in the state is played...as far as where the champions hail from there isn't even a debate..

Just as long as we're not talking about pro football. Or in the case of the Dallas Cowboys "Semi-Pro Football" (I say this being a Cowboy fan. They're just really hard to love right now.)

Figures do not lie. Region III sucks. Woulda thunk it?

Commerce could have been considered DFW instead of East Texas. That would have given DFW 20 titles. :D

The worm will turn again some day.

A small point, wherever you put Newton, you should also put Burkeville. They are only some 15 miles or so apart, and are in the same county. Actually, Burkeville and Newton are the "true" East Texas teams. Look on a Texas map. How many teams listed as being in "East Texas" geographically lie to the east of Burkeville and Newton?
