This is a Grade B western made in 1960 that was used as a part of the double features that were popular in that time. It is only about 67 minutes long and was filmed in black and white. It is not great like High Noon but it is good of its' kind. It is set in 1872. Most of the action takes place in Fort Smith, Ark where Judge Parker and the federal agents have charge of the Indian Territory located in Oklahoma Territory. Bill Williams stars as Temple Houston (Yes that is Sam Houston's son) who is the DA that has a fair sense of justice. Ted De Corsia plays the Indian Chief Buffalo Horn who is framed and falsely accused of murder. Ted is great in this role. Gloria Talbott plays the chief's daughter Ruth Red Hawk and Ward Harlon plays the fair minded newspaper man. It is a good movie with action and suspense and courtroom drama.

As in many movies sometimes historical facts are not followed closely because in 1872 Sam Houston's son Temple was only 12 years old and didn't start practicing law until the 1880s. Also Judge Parker didn't take over at Fort Smith, Arkansas until 1875.
Still a good movie though.
And De Corsia's parting shot at the end is classical.
