Win totals and rankings were compiled using 11-man varsity records of the 177 3A programs that competed in UIL district play in 2009 and includes all games thru the end of the 2009 Season.
A school must have fielded a varsity football team for at least half of the total time period in question to be eligible for inclusion on each of the winning percentage rankings. (i.e. only schools who competed at least 25 seasons or more are included on the 50 yr rank, 20 seasons or more on the 40 yr rank, etc.).
FYI the only schools that were actually excluded that would have ranked in the top 25 from any of the percentage rankings were Lucas Lovejoy (2 years of varsity football), Argyle (8 years of varsity football) and Wimberley (22 years of varsity football). The vast majority of new schools are 4A or 5A so that rule doesn't really get used much in the lower classifications.
