It appears 95% sure that Lamar University will institute a Varsity College Level Softball Program starting next spring...After exporting top-notch players to big Universities all over the USA, it looks like we may just have a good local College Team. If they can retain just 1/3 of the good Gulf Coast players, they should be more than just competitive, in a year or two!...We have a great playing diamond and large comfortable stadium- designated out at the new complex. It's state-of-the art. The fields are covered with a special astroturf like material that is specially ergonomically designed to be exactly like playing on a dirt infield...It is approved for the 18 & u Nationals, College games and even Hamshire-Fannett's 3A team uses that field for their home games! Comments?
