I ate some potato soup before the game.

I hope mr44 brings back some backstrap from his hunting trip. I love backstrap. Do you soak it in milk/egg before coating in flour? That's how I fix it and it is really good that way. I also discovered that using less oil makes the crust stay on better. I am still trying to "perfect" my gravy skills. ;)

Yep milk and egg, my batter was crushed crackers, then put it in flour and fry it.....melts in your mouth...

That is EXACTLY what I had. Seriously. Slpy provided the backstrap one cold cold morning not too long ago, and I helped provide some of the fixin's to go with.

Er...I should probably clarify that slpy did not PERSONALLY provide the backstrap. He did it with gun in hand. More than that I don't care to discuss; I had a hard enough dealing with the head he left in my freezer before he got it to the taxidermist.

AND: It was the freezer in my garage, not in my house!

That was sauteed (in butter) cabbage, not boiled, slpy. Boiled cabbage would be pretty nasty...
