Three years later its easy to see just how good they were. No team this year would stay within thirty of either.

I remember reading the SI article after that game where Steve Sarkisian said that of the 11 Texas defensive starters, 9 would be in the NFL. How many are there now?

I count...

Michael Huff (Raiders)
Tim Crowder (Broncos)
Michael Griffin (Titans)
Aaron Ross (NYG)
Frank Okam (Texans)
Brian Robison (Vikings)
Tarrell Brown (Rams?)
Brian Orakpo (soon will be)
Rodrique Wright (not sure but he was drafted by Miami)

Looks like he was pretty smart...

I didn't know Osackbo started that game?
Course I didn't keep up with college near as much as I do now much less UT.

To be accurate, I think Orakpo subbed in for one of the D-linemen so he technically wasn't a starter.

Orakpo subbed in on 3rd downs and in passing situations.

Rashad Bobino has been around a long time. Was a starter in this game

I know Robison was getting a lot of PT with the Vikings that shows Orakbo has a lot of potential too.

For those of you who care Scott Derry was a 3rd string linebacker that year!

It was a great game indeed! That was one of the very rare times that BCS got it right. I don't think none of the champions since then has had a perfect record and one of them had a two loss season.
