Go figure, I thought they won it back-to-back, but I see that was Atlanta with a 3 peat.

Cuero won gold/1st place in 2005, 2006 and 2008
Cuero won silver/ 2nd place in 2007

hopefully Cuero's team will be competitive again this year - we'll just have to see......

Not Jasper. They could not even compete in our district meet the last couple of years. Silsbee and WOS has dominated that district.

Maybe Jasper will have a better chance at a district championship in 18-3A.

I was just throwing out schools. I don't think Jasper will be in contention. Just trying to start some conversation.

It has nothing to do with the district. Coach Spoon died, and so did the track program. Maybe some day they will resurrect the program, but for the time being it is dead. Sad, considering Jasper's history in track.

I like Madison's chances this year to win the team title. It's really dependent upon whether Vernon Hunt can run at the district meet this year. Last year he failed a class and wasn't eligible to run in the 100 and one of our relays failed to qualify at district because of his absence.

If he's eligible I think we can get our three relays to Austin and he should be there in the 100 if he doesn't have senioritis and is working hard this time around on the track and in the classroom. Hunt not being there for district was the difference in us not getting the team title last year at the state meet.
