Tigers play Crandall in the opening round Friday. best 2 of 3.
Tigers got off to a very slow start but managed to do well in district. 8-2. 16-6 for the year. Both district losses to Forney and both were solid victories by the Jack Rabbits. 12-0 and 8-2. The rest of the district was pretty weak with both Forney and Commerce winning large.
Tigers have little power. Only a couple of homeruns hit this year. 6 triples, 40 doubles.
Shawn Droddy hit .514 with 20 rbis to lead the team. Billy Mercer .463 12 rbis, Kevin Wingfield 19 rbis. Nelson Minjivar .328 17 rbis.
Pitching: Chad Hunter 4-0 2.28 era
Kevin Wingfield 3-1 3.33 era, Shawn Droddy 5-3 2.49 era.
I think we will beat Crandall, but dont look for us to go too far in the playoffs. I surely hope I'm wrong.
