Data Poll has Sinton by +31.5. Records, Sinton 5-0, West Oso 4-1. District opener for both squads.
West Oso appears to be vastly improved from last year, but I don't see them being able to stay with Sinton. It's about time the Pirates make a "statement" about the 2002 season. If I knew for sure that Sinton would do as they did last year and play the subs in the fourth quarter only, I would be tempted to pick Sinton to beat Data Poll's spread. Anybody else have an opinion?

Ok, I'm going out on a limb and predicting Sinton by +36. I think Sinton is ready for the regular season, and should show our fans what we're made of. Go Pirates!!!!!!!!!

I just went by their scorin average and what they allow per game on D.But I'm like you I believe they'll show every body what they are more than capable of.

I'm just thinking that the coaches should be through with whatever experimentation they were doing, and should be ready to turn 'em loose. If that's the case, they should hit the ground running.

It should be a good game Sinton 66. It sure is going to be great to be back home at Pirate Stadium. We have been on the road all through September. West Oso is much improved and will be tough but I say Sinton will win 21 to 7. GO PIRATES!

sinton 66, you were right in that other post about the sportswriters. heck, i am a sportswriter and i'll admit that most of us don't know crap. but if you're going to watch out for any team in your own district, don't worry about ap or mathis as much as west oso. theyre for real. theyre the fastest team in 30-3A this side of you guys. i havent seen mathis play, and when ap played refugio jarvis edwards was out for most of the game, so i can't say exactly where everyone sits right now. i'm not going to tell you that i know everything, but based on what ive heard and seen, west oso is the second-best team in the district. good luck fellas.

West Oso looks impressive right now because of their record, but you have to look at who they've played. They were beaten by the only decent team they met (Yoakum). I know Oso is improved, and I'm sure the Sinton team and coaching staff are prepared for them. It may be a tighter game than I predicted, we'll just have to wait and see.

I SAW THE YOAKUM WEST-OSO GAME. THEY ARE VERY TALENTED BUT AT THAT TIME THEY WERE NOT IN GOOD SHAPE. BY THE MIDDLE OF THIRD QUARTER THEY WERE CRAMPING UP. THEY MAY BE IN BETTER SHAPE BUT I DONT THINK THEY WILL BEAT SINTON.I DONT THINK SINTON WILL TAKE THEM LIGHTLY. EVEN IF SINTON BEATS THEM I THINK WEST OSO WILL BE IN THE HUNT FOR PLAYOFFS IF THEY KEEP THERE HEADS UP.THEY SEEM TO ME TO REALLY GET DOWN ON THEMSELVES WHEN THINGS DONT GO RIGHT.

I am not from you district, but I would pick Sinton by 28. I had a chance to speek to the Fal people, they told me that Wes Oso was quick, and had some size. Fal lost 20 to 6. I did not see Fal being that strong. Port Isabel was leading by 34 point at half against Fal. This kinda makes Wes Oso somewhat weak! But watch out you never know. I would expect Wes Oso to be about like Raymondville.

Thank you all for the welcome. It is good to be here. Yes I remember you Sinton 81 and we have got a soccer game again this Saturday. I will be at the West Oso game this Friday and I will be the old guy with the San Antonio Spurs cap. I will be wearing a maroon shirt. Don't forget it is maroon night. Anyway look forward to the game. I think the Pirates will win. Oh and yes before the game I will be attending the Lady Pirate's volleyball games. It is nice to have season reserved tickets at the game plus living within walking distance of the stadium. :)
