defeated Mertzon last night and will face wall at 7:30 tonight in the big lake tournament. The Panthers were led by J.D. Granado and his 45 pts. He had 35 at halftime and only played 5 minutes of the 3rd period. The Panthers moved to 17-2 on the season...

Congrats!

Pretty solid...Should make a decent run in the playoffs if they dont run into Burk Brownfield or estacado too early....The ponder team who beat FS earlier this year beat argyle last night and burk tonight to win the whataburger tournament so even though its a 2a school they're no slouch

No there not an easy team no matter the classification. Joe Daniel Granado is about 6'3 but is a little thin. He plays forward but has range.. He loves to dribble drive but can hit the 3's from anywhere on the court.
They love to press and play in your face defense all game long.

Trey Cantu who is the point guard is just as good of a scorer as he is, I would even say he probably leads the team in scoring avg. I believe he averages 20+ per game and is just lethal from 3 point range.

Then there's the other forward, Lambert Gonzalez, he is avg. double figures as well and is just as athletic.

They also have a few freshman playing some good quality minutes.

They start district play saturday at 4pm here in Fort Stockton against Clint.

They have won 2 tournaments and Cantu was even the Bog Lake tourney MVP while Granado and 6'4 center Cole Gossett made the all tourney team.
