Classic Country- Between "The Cowboy Rides Away," George Strait (Is that really a classic already? I feel old) and "Pancho and Lefty," Willie Nelson

Modern Country- "Whiskey Lullaby," Brad Paisley

Rap- "Ride With Me," Nelly

R&B- "Unchained Melody," Righteous Brothers and "End of the Road," Boyz II Men

Reggae- "Hammer," Bob Marley

Pop- "Horses on the Range," Timmy Curran

Classic Rock- God, there are a ton of them. Top of the list is "Magic Carpet Ride," Steppenwolf; "More than a Feeling," Boston; "Sultans of Swing," Dire Straits; "All of my Love," Led Zepplin; "Kashmir," Led Zepplin; "Don't Fear the Reaper," Blue Oyster Cult (Give me more cowbell); and "Have you Ever Seen the Rain," Creedence Clearwater Revival

Rock- "You Could Be Mine," Guns 'n Roses

Alternative- "Comedown," Bush... Also my favorite song period

Jimmy Buffet (not really a "genre," but what genre does he really fit into?)- "Tin Cup Chalice"

In my mind...only two genres matter....here are a few "off the top of my head" entries from each.....

Classic Country:
* Three Days by Faron Young
*Me and Paul by Willie Nelson
*San Quintin by Johnny Cash

Classic Rock:
*Long Cool Woman by The Hollies
*Green River by CCR
*War Pigs by Black Sabbath

I've also recently given up on Texas Country......6 or 7 years ago...when it was still about he music..and everyone had their own sound...it was great...now it seems everyone is trying to mimic something similar to Cross Canadian Ragweed's sound....and I can't tell anyone apart anymore....I've traded in the sellouts of TX Country for the select few that are flying under the radar keeping honky-tonk alive...i.e. Justin Trevino, Bobby Flores, Tony Booth, etc.

Techno- The Hypno, Floorfilla
Country- John Conlee - Rose Colored Glasses
80's Rock/Soft- Foreigner - I wanna know what love is
60's- The Platters- Unchained Melody
80's Rock- Billy Idol- Rebel Yell (fun times dancing to that song at the victory dances, too many great memories there to ignore it and the extras this songs brought :) )
70's- Gerry Rafferty- Baker Street (best sax solo in the history of music) Awesome!
This is a good topic.
