Just realize that this mathematical system rates all games from week 0 through week 16 equally... which explains why neither of the state champs are ranked #1. I could easily adjust the numbers to make games later in the season count more, but to be consistent I continued with the same formula as I used in 2007, except that I included all games played by all 177 3A teams (last year I only included games in which BOTH opponents were 3A teams).
It's definitely not perfect but my overall accuracy in predicting playoff games in 2008 was 80.5% (66 right, 16 wrong) --- up from an accuracy of 76% in 2007

And before you start protesting about so-and-so being rated below another team that you beat take in to consideration the following set of games just among the top 10 that were played during the 2008 season:
Bridgeport beat Prosper
Prosper beat Celina
Celina beat Liberty Hill
Liberty Hill beat Bridgeport
Region I teams are listed in BLUE
Region II teams are listed in RED
Region III teams are listed in GREEN
Region IV teams are listed in PURPLE
