And for RM: You are a Texan if (and only if)you were born in Texas. You are a Texas resident otherwise. I love you but I can not accept you as a Texan.

If we made an exception for you then everybody that moved to Texas would claim to be a Texan.

I was born at St. David's Hospital in Austin.

Eighteen years later when I left for college I moved into an apartment one block away from St. David's off of Red River. The running joke for that entire year was that it took me 18 years to figure out I only needed to move a block away!

Know I've put it on here before but I'll go ahead and bore yawl again.......born in Brownwood the last year the old Hospital was open ('68). Lived all over the west coast (San Diego, San Francisco, Long Beach, Seattle, Alaska) up till I was 5. "Sperm donor" (remember him?) was in the Navy. Small stints in Ft. Worth, Lubbock, Waco, Early, Bangs, Comanche.......but been back in the WOOD pretty much since.

Heck no! He got finished when I was around 15-months old & we moved home to Texas. I think they were in Georgia when my mom got preggers & she had to move all that way. Army brat to coach's brat - the only difference in moving is it was always in Texas. :D

I was born in Hope, Arkanasas (but like Sweetwater Red, I got to Texas as soon as I could :) Mom, Dad and I moved to Houston when I was 2 years old then to Cuero the summer I turned 4. Funny story, my dad worked for a chemical/fertilizer company and he was transferred to "south Texas" and it was either Beeville or Cuero. My mom was preggers with my little brother and it was the middle of July. They went to Beeville 1st to look for a house. After 30 minutes, my mom told my daddy that there was NO WAY she'd move to Beeville cause the grocery store stunk so they moved to Cuero. We've been here since 1962. Kinda weird how things happen. If the store would have met with my mom's expectations, I'd of grown up a Trojan instead of a Gobbler:eek:

Lived in College Station till 3rd grade, though church/family/football games had us in Navasota every weekend.

Moved to Pflugerville after 3rd grade in Navasota, moved back to Navasota halfway through 5th grade, and the rest is history. I did have residence in rural Walker County while working at the state, but as the story of my life goes, Navasota was home on the days off!
