157 for career passing yards. There's also the single-season record he set last year, that needs 138 (I think) to break.

I went to Longview HS and all week I have been telling some of the Lobo posters on their site about Gilbert but none of them thought there was any way LT would dominate them.
LOL I guess they do now!Can't wait to see him in burnt orange!

I wish Colt McCoy would have gone ahead and declared for the NFL draft so GG could start as a true freshman.

Nothing against CMcC. I just would like to see someone new at QB for the 'Horns.

As good as he is Id take a senior Colt Mccoy over a freshman Gilbert anyday

Lake Travis's 2 toughest games were given to them by Cibolo Steele and Alice. Both REGION IV teams!!!!

I had the pleasure of watching this game first hand. After watching a lackluster 5A game on TV after seeing Lake Travis, I do believe LT is the best team in the state. The Garrett kid is something to watch. Seeing highlights of him doesn't do justice to seeing him pick apart a good Longview team. Longview ran a four man front in the first half and Lake Travis was good against it. Longview switched to a three man front and added a DB and it just got worse. The screen pass just before halftime was a great call by Coach Morris. Longview was pinning their ears back on every play and the screen pass was set up like it was drawn on a board. Lake Travis is good, REAL GOOD!

I really like the four Lake Travis JV players who got tasked with the sideline play boards. They were as well coached as the rest of the team. They displayed those colored boards with the precision of a well-oiled machine!
