I guess Sanger will be able to hold that win over Silsbee's head like Texas is holding their win over OU. But in the end, it will not matter, Silsbee will play for the championship like OU, Sanger will sit and watch like tu.

Hmm...sounds like Silsbee is having some early season trouble.

Is Jasper down this year, or is Silsbee just that good?

Silsbee is just that good.

As for Jasper, just what is considered a down year for them in basketball?

Silsbee owns Jasper in basketball, nothing new about this kind of win.

Silsbee has a basketball team?! I'm just learning this now... I'm mostly a football guy, sorry

District 18-3a had some great teams this season. Hudson lost by a couple to Hardin-Jefferson. Great job Jasper! those guards are carrying this team

Remember, some pollster/writer said in a pre-season review that Jasper just might have the best guard combo in the state and some folks seemed to snicker. Wonder what the opinions are right now?

Either one of those two potentially can just flat out take over a game. Last night it was Bailey with seven unanswered points toward the end that help provide the margin.

So what happened in the first game? Was Jasper missing players?

Yes, in the first game Spikes was out for Jasper with a broken thumb. But last night, a very important reserve, Scott Middleton was also out with an injury and this time they were able to play through it. The huge difference was that the Dogs improved every week after that blowout loss and sneaked up on Silsbee. By the time Silsbee realized they were playing a real opponent, it was too late.

Jasper lost to a very tough HJ team tonight 56-47. Congratulations to the Dogs. You exceeded just about everyone's expectations, except probably yours. It was a fantastic season, by far the best season EVER for Jasper. You only graduate four seniors so you will be back. Many sophs and juniors got playoff playing time. You now have the foundation for a solid program.
