View Full Version : Question about Bwd hiring of new coach

The rumor I just heard is the hiring committee has 3 names in mind. If one of these 3 names applies, the hiring process will be very quick. If one of these 3 don't apply it will take until sometime in February before a new coach is hired. As of yet, none of these 3 have applied.

Now remember, this is only what I have heard and by no means is this the well know fact.

My question is, Is Brownwood (or any other school) allowed to contact a currently employed coach about leaving a school and coming to Brownwood. Is that considered unethical!

Just a question I was hoping someone could answer.

I did not actually believe it, did not know if it was true or untrue. Just curious what the hiring rules were.

No, it's not illegal or unethical. The only way I would think it would be unethical is if they contacted a coach whose team was still playing. This happens all the time.

Nothing at all wrong with it. Coaches can lose their jobs easy enough, they need to be free to take a better job any time they get a chance.
